Cash for Clunkers Is a Government Scam to Access Your Computer

THIS explains why Congress and Obugger are so bent on continuing the Cash for Clunkers program, after the House passed a bill Friday to add $2 billion more to the original $1 billion program.

Signing onto the website and submitting an application essentially gives the federal government access to your computer, according to this language from the site's privacy statement:
This application provides access to the DoT CARS system. When logged onto the CARS system, your computer is considered a federal computer system and is the property of the U.S. Government. Any or all uses of this system and all files on this system may be intercepted, monitored, recorded, copied, audited, inspected, and disclosed to authorized CARS, DoT, and law enforcement personnel, as well as authorized officials of other agencies, both foreign and domestic.
Maybe now is the time to call your Senator, because the Senate will be voting next week to continue this program (which was shut down last week for having a crappy computer system, running out of money, and continuously changing criteria over what new vehicles were eligible vs. the clunkers people were trading in).

And they want to run your health care?

UPDATE II: Of course, you can always protect yourself. Check out The_Kid's recommendations for doing so here.
