Let's Ban Doctors, Cars, and Knives before We Ban AK-47s

Suddenly, Barack Obama wants to ban AK-47 “assault” weapons because they belong only on “the battlefield of war,” even though the LEGAL AK-47s in the U.S. are dressed-up 22-caliber semi-automatic rifles NOT used in war. New York's Nanny Mayor Mike Bloomberg wants America’s police to go on strike until the federal government adopts stricter gun laws, although I would expect that if his own security police went on strike he’d become a little nervous. Lanny Davis, former special counsel to Bill Clinton, told Sean Hannity on the radio Tuesday that the federal government should be tracking the purchase of weapons and ammunition to identify “disturbing trends” … you know, like being prepared for the country to fall apart or Barack Obama to join the UN in trying to ban weapons.

Let’s look at some facts about gun deaths in this country, facts the left-wing gun-grabbing fascists among us don’t include in their narrative -- because facts don’t fit what they hope to achieve.

Let’s start with James Holmes, who murdered 12 people and wounded 58 others during a shooting last Friday in Aurora, Colorado. James Holmes did not use an AK-47, Mr. President. He murdered and injured people using an AR-15 with a 100-round drum, a shotgun, and a semi-automatic pistol. The AR-15 Holmes used was legal; it was not an “assault” weapon because it was not fully automatic; it was a semi-automatic rifle. Obama would have Americans believe that any AK-47 or AR-15 stored at home in their gun cabinets is an illegal weapon; they’re not. The Clinton-era ban on “assault’ style weapons in this country sunset in 2004, but it is still illegal to own an AK-47 or AR-15 that has been modified to fully automatic fire. So any time Obama or anyone else on the left rants about “assault weapons” used on the “field of battle” roaming “the streets of this country” all by themselves, remember this: The semi-automatic weapons in this country are glorified .22s. You can fire off rounds from a semi-automatic “assault” style weapon just as quickly as you can a semi-automatic Glock handgun: BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO PULL THE TRIGGER EACH TIME YOU WANT THE WEAPON TO FIRE.

Here’s another fact the disingenuous left doesn’t want you to know about. Only about 1 percent, yes ONE PERCENT, of the gun deaths in this country can be attributed to the use of ALL TYPES of rifles and shotguns, let alone semi-automatic rifles, which the lapdog media and the fascist left will always refer to as “assault” weapons because the word gets stuck in your conscience.

You can see for yourself here among FBI statistics from 2006-2010.

While we’re on the subject of the numbers of gun deaths in this country. There were 12,996 homicides in 2010 that occurred when someone used a firearm to do the killing; 831 of those deaths occurred from the bullets fired from rifles and shotguns. Furthermore, murderers use “assault” style weapons so infrequently to kill  people, the FBI doesn’t even track them in a category separate from “rifles." In comparison, 1,704 people were killed in 2010 with knives, and 745 people were killed when someone beat them to death.

I guess that means that the police should go on strike until the federal government bans all kitchen knives, hands, fists, and feet. Can somebody please tell Mayor Nanny Bloomberg that the Supreme Court ruled 7 years ago that the police aren’t even required to protect people?

Let’s get further into the left's hypocrisy. In 1976, Washington, D.C., passed a total ban on guns within the limits of the District of Criminals, presumably to protect Curroptocrats from American gun owners fed-up with their raping of this country; 14 years later, murders in D.C. had skyrocketed. Naturally, after the gun ban was lifted in 2008, murder rates dropped 25 percent.

You won’t hear that in the left’s narrative. And I don’t even need to go into the left ignoring murder rates in Obama’s Chicago backyard, where some of the strictest gun controls in the nation violate the 2nd Amendment. All you need to do is watch the nightly news.

I also won’t go into the number of illegal guns used to commit most murders (estimates indicated about 80 percent); all you need to do is read anything about Fast and Furious and the death of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry. Yes. The federal government did build that.

So let’s get to the heart of what really kills far more Americans every year than any nutcase wielding any type of gun. Numerous medical organizations estimate that medical mistakes kill nearly 300,000 people every year, though that figure may be closer to 500,000. Meanwhile, 32,310 people died on the highways last year (you know, the roads Obama built so your small business could become successful) in motorcycle and automobile accidents -- almost 20,000 more people than those dying at the hands of a murderer firing a gun.

All of which means, I would be far safer if I never went to the doctor or drove to work. So, Mr. President, I’ll be keeping my AK-47 until you come for it. And Nanny Bloomberg? When you pry my weapon from cold dead hand, make sure you don’t spill the Big Gulp in my other hand.

Obama the Anti-American, "Post-racial" Globalist Revealed in 1995 Interview

We're wrong to criticize the pResident for being anti-American and calling patriots fighting against him "teabaggers." We're wrong to accuse the pResident for being a globalist who seeks to undermine America's sovereignty and the Constitution. We're wrong to fear that the pResident is forcefully using government to take over our everyday personal lives. We're wrong to suggest that Obama is using racial politics to his advantage.

We're wrong to say such terrible things ... unless you read what the liar in chief himself said 15 years ago during a magazine interview unearthed by Doug Ross.
CRISIS: Having lived abroad, in Indonesia, how do you think that helped shape your views on race?

OBAMA: It made me realize that racism was an extension of other abuses of power. Living there you learned people can find excuses other than race to oppress each other.

CRISIS: Will race relations get better?

OBAMA: Not in the short term. We're moving out of a period of American preeminence on the world economic stage. Global competition means increasing economic uncertainty for the majority of Americans, black and white. Unfortunately, politicians in this country find it convenient to define these problems in racial terms -- affirmative action, immigration and so on. It's always easier to organize people around tribe than around principle.

Photos of Fat Al Gore's New Palatial Palace

Al recently cashed in some carbon credits ... and went on a Mediterranean-style diet, gobbling up a $9 gazillion Montecito-area property. Rumor has it he may help offset the economic crisis in Greece, too ... by purchasing all of ancient Athens.

Here's what reducing your carbon footprint could look like, if you were funded by Marxist revolutionaries and bought an ocean-view villa on 1.5 acres with a swimming pool, spa and fountains, six fireplaces, five bedrooms, and nine bathrooms.

Conspicuously absent from the swimming pool are Al's pet polar bears.

More photos at Doug Ross @ Journal.

UPDATE: Yeah, "palatial palace" is redundant ... on purpose, in honor of Al's superfluity.

It's Earth Day! Where's Al Gore?

Sources are uncertain of his whereabouts.

Some say he may be stuck on an ice floe with a polar bear. Or he may have taken up residence in an igloo. Truth is, he has been known to sneak away from it all, to sample an odoriferous whiff of cow farts. And there's a persistent rumor he's recently developed an interest in inducing a volcano in Knoxville because they burn cleaner than jet fuel.

Meanwhile, some say he and Michael Mann may have been seen taking turns pleasuring themselves with Mann's hockey stick while watching a personal copy of the Hide the Decline video Mann had pulled yesterday from YouTube:
6 Video no longer available. Check and mate, crackers.

Posted by: Michael Mann at April 21, 2010 10:46 AM (muUqs)

Or maybe he's just hiding in an office somewhere, surfing his innerwebz and reading about all the cash he stands to make from the sale of carbon credits. One thing is certain, he's probably not following those who, terrified by his lies, have taken a hysterical leap into the great abyss.

So, in honor of Al Whore, let's revisit what will from this day forth be known as my annual Earth Day post, and perpetuate the truth of ...

Al Gore’s Mammoth Contribution to "Global Warming"

An aerial view of Al Whore's carbon-spewing home.

Re-posted from April 24, 2009.

It’s only fitting that today, just two days after Earth Day (and Lenin's birthday), when former Vice President Al Gore testified before Congress in hearings on a “climate change” bill shamelessly purporting to curb greenhouse gasses but really disguising (that is, to most American sheeple) “cap and trade” taxation of your energy consumption, we should remember who lives in a glass house.

Or rather, a big-honkin’ carbon-spewing global-warming behemoth from which only Mr. Whore can toss erroneous truths while ignoring his own. This is not a new story, but it’s an important one, and needs retelling…again and again and again.

Remember the 2007 email going around?
LOOK OVER THE DESCRIPTIONS OF THE FOLLOWING TWO HOUSES AND SEE IF YOU CAN TELL WHICH BELONGS TO AN ENVIRONMENTALIST.

HOUSE #1:

A 20-room mansion (not including 8 bathrooms) heated by natural gas. Add on a pool (and a pool house) and a separate guest house all heated by gas. In ONE MONTH ALONE this mansion consumes more energy than the average American household in an ENTIRE YEAR. The average bill for electricity and natural gas runs over $2,400 per month. In natural gas alone (which last time we checked was a fossil fuel), this property consumes more than 20 times the national average for an American home. This house is not in a northern or Midwestern “snow belt,” either. It’s in the South.

HOUSE #2:

Designed by an architect professor at a leading national university, this house incorporates every “green” feature current home construction can provide. The house contains only 4,000 square feet (4 bedrooms) and is nestled on arid high prairie in the American southwest. A central closet in the house holds geothermal heat pumps drawing ground water through pipes sunk 300 feet into the ground. The water (usually 67 degress F) heats the house in winter and cools it in summer. The system uses no fossil fuels such as oil or natural gas, and it consumes 25% of the electricity required for a conventional heating/cooling system. Rainwater from the roof is collected and funneled into a 25,000 gallon underground cistern. Wastewater from showers, sinks, and toilets goes into underground purifying tanks and then into the cistern. The collected water then irrigates the land surrounding the house. Flowers and shrubs native to the are blend the property into surrounding rural landscape.
House #1, located outside of Nashville, Tennessee, is Gore’s.

House #2, on a ranch near Crawford, Texas, was W’s. (The Bushes have since moved to Dallas.)

Let’s just remember, then, as the Whoremeister himself claims, that people with large carbon footprints like his own are fouling our atmosphere with filth, trapping the sun’s blistering rays, melting the fragile polar ice caps, raising the treacherous seas, triggering irreversible damage to the ecosystem, and hurtling our endangered planet toward an environmental Armageddon that (his own website claims) one in three children fear is inevitable.

Then, let’s look at what happened after Gore’s ridiculous truth got out, thanks to a June 2008 report from the Tennessee Center for Policy Research:
In the year since Al Gore took steps to make his home more energy-efficient, the former Vice President’s home energy use surged more than 10%, according to the Tennessee Center for Policy Research.

“A man’s commitment to his beliefs is best measured by what he does behind the closed doors of his own home,” said Drew Johnson, President of the Tennessee Center for Policy Research. “Al Gore is a hypocrite and a fraud when it comes to his commitment to the environment, judging by his home energy consumption.”

In the past year, Gore’s home burned through 213,210 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity, enough to power 232 average American households for a month.

In February 2007, An Inconvenient Truth, a film based on a climate change speech developed by Gore, won an Academy Award for best documentary feature. The next day, the Tennessee Center for Policy Research uncovered that Gore’s Nashville home guzzled 20 times more electricity than the average American household.
Today, meanwhile, Gore implored Congressional members of the Energy and Commerce Committee to pass the “American Clean Energy and Security Act,” a Waxman-Markey bill:
Passage of this legislation will restore America's leadership of the world and begin, at long last, to solve the climate crisis.... It is truly a moral imperative.

And from the WSJ:

I believe this legislation has the moral significance equivalent to that of the civil rights legislation of the 1960’s and the Marshall Plan of the late 1940’s.

Amazingly, no one at the hearing burst out laughing from the sheer ridiculousness of his statement. Oh...and just to make it even more hilarious, Democrats didn’t allow balance in today’s testimony.

Want to know what's REALLY funny, though?

During last month’s “Earth Hour,” when people the world over turned their lights off for an hour to conserve energy, Mr. Whore’s house was lit up like the sun.

It appears his hypocrisy knows no bounds. The man's carbon footprint is so big it's a wonder the city of Nashville hasn't declared his mansion a third-world country (for all we know, it might resemble one inside). Yet, it's a moral imperative that the federal government tax you and me into oblivion so that we use less energy and raise more federal revenue.

So...I think I'll go out and burn off a few tankfuls of regular unleaded (you know, with all the impurities) this weekend in my F-150, leave the big-screen TV and all the house lights on, and see if I can spew smoke from a few cigars into the atmosphere.

In honor of the Whoremeister, of course.

Dear Left: I Am NOT A Terrorist

A Photochop by Jamie

Just because, in wild desperation, you link the TEA Party movement to today’s anniversary of the Oklahoma City Federal Building bombing does not make it so, or me a terrorist.

I will not blow up a federal building today, or any day. I will not threaten violence upon a politician today, or any day. I will not incite others to break laws to achieve victory in this epic struggle between our desire to return America to its founding principles of limited government and fiscal responsibility and free-market enterprise and your soft tyranny and oppressive seizure of private life and industry so that you can steal from each according to their means and distribute to those according to their need.

I am not a racist. I stand beside people who are white and black and brown and yellow and orange and green and blue, people who don’t want to tell you how to live your lives, people who just want you to stop telling them how to live theirs. I stand beside people of all walks of life, from the professional to the blue collar to the unemployed, people who are young and old and in between, people who know that in being labeled racists they are merely the recipients of the racism projected onto them by those with a long history of great moments in race relations.

I do not belong to a militia, but I do cling bitterly to my guns and Bible, my guns protecting me from you, my Bible helping me sleep at night while you lurk in the shadows for opportunity. Were it not for my guns, you would have stormed my home long ago, taking what I have earned to distribute among those who have not, burning my Bible for provoking me to think dangerous thoughts that run counter to those you have tried to program into me since I was born.

I am not Wall Street, but I depend on Wall Street to provide me with the opportunity to someday pursue my dream, the dream of being free to deflect your hand from my wallet and your stronghold over my struggle to get ahead in this life and your pernicious and relentless efforts to drag me down into the sewer of despair in which you wallow.

I am not an extremist. I am an American. But if, in these dark times, being extreme means standing in the streets with right-minded people, reminding those in government that they work for us, demanding they be held accountable, then I will continue to be extreme. After all, America was founded by extremists, and I am honored to be mentioned among their company.

I am not crazy if I distrust government, if I put faith in myself and my ability to rise above your pettiness and lift as many boats with me as I can. To place your trust in government is to give up on your own human abilities, one of the craziest, most un-American, things I can think of. If you want to call me crazy for believing what WSB radio talkshow host Herman Cain told thousands in Atlanta last Thursday -- “I am crazy about the United States of America, I am crazy about the Constitution, and I’m crazy about the Declaration of Independence” -- I will do more than act the part: I will be fervently crazy about such American treasures, too.

If you haven’t figured it out by now, you can try to silence me, but you will fail. I will NOTwatch my words.” Call me a racist, call me crazy, call me a terrorist, but I will continue to speak the truth about the Marxist in Chief, about pResident Barack Obama’s malignant narcissism, about his contempt for the American people, as will millions of others. For to ignore these facts and allow you to continue stripping America down to a shell, like some feeble European nation, would place me on the wrong side of history, would be my only act of treason.

And so I remain, seditiously not yours.

Lie to Me (I'd Drop Dead if You Didn't)

You'd think in the information age politicians would, for once, just shut the fuck up and stop lying and own up to the damned truth. Oh, I'm sorry. For a minute there I was dreaming that they actually care what we think.

Never mind.

What a silly ass I am to fantasize that when The Wicked Witch of Congress said this -- “No major piece of major social legislation has ever been passed without the vote being partisan" -- she actually thought we'd believe it.

Or, as BigFurHat says,
She’s either stupid or a liar. Wait, what am I saying? She’s stupid and a liar.
After all, can't you spot the partisan legislation? It's all in the Political Math.

I'm going to do Jonnny Lang a grave disservice here, but then I'd rather hear him over the Botox Queen any day:

The pResident Is a Fucking Liar

And he's giving you the bird.

We know that.

But there’s a good percentage of the American people who don’t. How can they when the Campaigner in Chief has a bully pulpit in TOTUS and keeps shitting lies from his mouth like this one from yesterday’s Obamacare Redux campaign stop in liberal Philly: “Every year, [insurance companies] raise premiums higher and higher. Just last month, Anthem Blue Cross in California tried to jack up rates by nearly 40%.”

Them’s high falutin’, drama-charged, fear-mongering words.

The problem is, they’re completely twisted, especially when you consider that Cauli-for-nia’s business community is in shambles, its unemployment rate a full three percent higher than the national average. How many unemployed people keep their former company’s insurance? Fact is, Anthem now has a smaller pool of insurers from which to earn their nut … and pay out claims. Um … earth to the pResident’s teleprompter: smaller pool = bigger costs. (The guy might understand if he actually had ever held a real job in the private sector).

And why is business unusual and unemployment soaring in Cauli-for-nia? Federal (translation: Regressive) regulations have crippled Cauli-for-nia's industry and agriculture, and moonbat state laws and throttling taxes have sent businesses fleeing as if The Big One were about to dump the entire west coast into the Pacific.

But even aside from Cauli-for-nia's problems (which WILL spread to the rest of America if we don't stop this regime), time and time again the sane among us have made the point that the insurance industry isn’t raping us:
The list goes on and on and fucking on. Hell, why let a few facts get in the way? If facts aren’t good enough for the MSM, they’re surely not good enough for the pResident of the United States.

You could make a hell of a lot better profit margin brewing beer than selling insurance [CLICK THE CHART TO THE RIGHT, from here ... and insurance companies earn $100 - $200 per policy, according to newer figures] -- that is until 2010, when, apparently, even our drunks realized they’d be better off stuffing their beer money in mattresses rather than buying rounds at the local bar.

That would certainly explain the resurgence in .99 cent Pabst Blue Ribbon draft specials I’ve seen lately around Atlanta. I'd rather drink rot gut. Obama’s legacy will probably be a still in every garage.

Therein lies reality: For all of Zero’s talk about jobs jobs jobs -- and I repeat myself yet again -- his pursuit of Moby Dick (health care) and the Jolly Green Apparition (global warming) and, soon, amnesty and national identity cards for all, are deliberate attempts to re-engineer America into a Regressive garbage dump, an outright plan to ruin this economy, and this country, forever.

Think of his presidency as one big shower summit, with 300 million livid and naked Rahmbos jabbing their fingers into our chests. It’s classic Marxism: From each according to his ability to each according to his need. It’s classic Alinsky: Demonize your opponent until he is under water and you’re crushing his skull with your foot. It’s classic Obama: Lies lies lies and thugism and epic fail.

I Didn't Need Phil Jones to Come Clean

Yeah, I know I'm late on this, but I don't care. Half the conservative blogosphere is at CPAC. I can re-spin their old stories any damned way I please. Especially since one of the kids stole my office chair and I have to kneel to type.

So ... here goes ...

In the simplest way possible, I didn't need Phil Jones to come clean and tell me the planet hasn't warmed since 1995 and that climate change was a lie. I built Global Warming Man on Friday ... in fucking Atlanta.

I built a clone for my daughter. Then my ingenious and industrious daughter built a second clone ... the next day ... a full 24 hours later, which means the meager three inches of global warming we received (as compared to the 30-plus inches that my in-laws in Pittsburgh experienced during two storms, enough to freeze their gutters and cause melt off from their roof to force its way into their walls, enough to take out their kitchen and their bathroom and their dining room and their basement, to the meager expense of 15 gs) stuck around until Sunday.

Sunday. (Incidentally, my father-in-law is so concerned about his house -- the one he was going to put up for sale yesterday so he could move to Florida -- being destroyed by Phil Jones' lie that he just interrupted this post with a phone call to ask if I had noticed Vanna White's "extreme" weight loss over the past six months. Shocking. I'm going to have to turn on that TV I own one of these days.)

For two days snow stuck around in "Hotlanta" like it was a party crasher who wouldn't go home, in Hotlanta where "snow" is about as obscure a word as "Democrat," unless, of course you live in Fulton County, where the city proper lies ... where it lies an awful lot, actually.

Thankfully, I live north, where the wild coyote/dogs roam (seriously, I heard them run along the top of the hill last night while I brought wood in for the fireplace because, I'm such a man, and all I could think was, DO THEY KNOW THAT GLOBAL WARMING IS GOING TO KILL THEM?!?!).

Okay. That's enough for now. It's "Mardi Gras Night" here at the ADHD household. I have King Cake to eat, after some scrumptious gumbo that Wild Thing #1 and #2 hated. Fuckin' A. That's more for me later (since tomorrow, being Ash Wednesday, is a no-meat day) because, you know, this Damn Yankee is quite ashamed to have been reared in a Northern ugly backwards blue state, where parents (not mine) pride themselves on bringing their children up stupid.

Good thing there are still red states to flee to.

Great Moments in Race Relations … by Democrats

With all this talk of racist marches on Washington and racist comments made during presidential speeches and racist outcry over the pResident’s policies, we really should look at the facts. We all know that the Democratic Party has a long history of racism its members want you to forget. Jimmy Carter’s rant to CNN yesterday is one way they try to pretend that we’re the racists.

What if they said what they really thought? Here's what it might look like:
Charlie Rangel: I forgot to report that I once refused to let white folks rent my Harlem brownstone.

Nancy Pelosi: God bless Barack Obama, bless his heart, president of the United States -- a total failure, losing all credibility, lying to the American people about the economy, health care, energy, you name the subject.

Harry Reid: Today’s minorities blithely cannibalize their children because they have a right to get as much “free” stuff as the political system will permit them to extract.

Robert Byrd: There are black honkies. I’ve seen a lot of black honkies in my time. That’s why I wear my KKK hood when President Obama speaks on TV.

Barack Obama: I don’t have all the facts, but I think the white kid deserved to be beaten.

Jimmy Carter: You have to admit, Joe Wilson was right. I mean, Obama was standing there acting all uppity and defiant, like he was talking to a cop. Oh…. Darn…. Was the camera rolling when I said that?

Sonya Sotomayor: We all know that judges don’t make up laws from the bench just to turn white people into second class citizens. Nudge. Nudge. Wink. Wink.

Joe Biden: I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that's a storybook, man.
Okay, so the Biden quote is real, and all of the other's except Carter's were based on real quotes. Drop them into Google and you’ll find their equally outrageous origins.

In fact, instead of putting words in their mouths (like they seem to like doing to us), I should just let the Democrats speak for themselves with these REAL racist quotes they've made over the years:
Joe Biden: You cannot go to a 7-11 or Dunkin Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent.

Jimmy Carter: I'm not going to use the federal government's authority deliberately to circumvent the natural inclination of people to live in ethnically homogeneous neighborhoods. . . . I have nothing against a community that's made up of people who are Polish or Czechoslovakian or French-Canadian or blacks who are trying to maintain the ethnic purity of their neighborhoods.

Hillary Clinton: Mahatma Gandhi ran a gas station down in St. Louis.

Robert F. Kennedy: I did not lie awake at night worrying about the problems of Negroes.

Christopher Dodd: I do not think it is an exaggeration at all to say to my friend from West Virginia [Robert Byrd] that he would have been a great senator at any moment. . . . He would have been right during the great conflict of civil war in this nation.

Jesse Jackson: Hymies. Hymietown.

Al Sharpton: White folks was in caves while we was building empires.... We taught philosophy and astrology and mathematics before Socrates and them Greek homos ever got around to it

Lyndon B. Johnson: These Negroes, they're getting pretty uppity these days and that's a problem for us since they've got something now they never had before, the political pull to back up their uppityness. Now we've got to do something about this, we've got to give them a little something, just enough to quiet them down, not enough to make a difference. For if we don't move at all, then their allies will line up against us and there'll be no way of stopping them, we'll lose the filibuster and there'll be no way of putting a brake on all sorts of wild legislation. It'll be Reconstruction all over again.

Lyndon B. Johnson: I’ll have those n***ers voting Democratic for the next 200 years.

Hip Hop Republican

That should level the playing field for a while.

UPDATE: And how could I ever forget ... that Jimmy Carter called Obama "this black boy"?

"You Lie"

That's right, Joe Wilson, he is a liar.
UPDATE: Again, and again, and again.
After all, doesn't Obugger sound like a dad scolding a bunch of kids who just did as he does and not as he said to do? And did you catch Nancy Pelosi's look? It's almost as if she just heard a recording of herself calling the American people Nazis.

Bugger off, Obugger. You do lie....you broken record sinking into irrelevancy fake high-IQ whiny asshole with terrible poll numbers whose only claim to fame is getting passed a Porkulus bill that hasn't done jack while you lose the respect of more Americans by the Teleprompter sound byte.

You may be a resident of the White House, but you're no president of the United States, no more than, say, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is. Obviously, since you're not listening to hundreds of thousands of Americans and, on Saturday, upwards of a million, you think you're president only of you.

Believe me...whatever you say does not go...not by a long shot.

Nah...There Ain't No Death Panels Here

From the lips of Obugger to Jewish rabbis, says Klavan:
According to Ben Smith over at Politico, President Barack Obama gave some theological weight to his health care plan during a phone call to a group of Rabbis the other day. Referring to the belief that God decides during the Jewish New Year “who shall live and who shall die,” Obama told the rebs, “We are God’s partners in matters of life and death.”
Take note, ladies and gentlemen. A sitting U.S. pResident, who denies his health care bill provides death counseling, just said to Jewish people (who, perhaps more than anyone else, know a little bit about death at the hands of government) that:

"[Elected officials of the U.S. Federal Government] are God’s partners in matters of life and death.”

Are you getting what he means? Because, and I'm just typing off the top of my head here, apparently the rest of us who latched on to this "death panel" thing, long before Sarah Palin did, are apparently ... just ... making ... things ... up ... out ... of ... thin ... air.

Welcome to the Wicked Witch of Congress Lie-athon

This would be Nancy Pelosi's last two weeks in brief:

Welcome to the Nancy Pelosi Lie-athon, where you never get a straight answer and the story always changes and each time she tells it the details become even more outlandish.

To make the show just a bit more interesting, I'm entering my 5-year-old into a truth dual with the Wicked Witch of Congress because, even though I can't ever get the truth from my daughter, I believe her more than I ever will Pelosi.

Hey! That brings up her new contribution to the political lexicon: She's pelosiing herself.

I know...let's waterboard her to find out just when she really knew!

Robert Gibbs Moment o' the Day: Bowgate

A series on b. Hussein's rumbling, bumbling, fumbling, stumbling Press Secretary Robert "Ahhhhh" Gibbs....

Ah, the beauty of bait and switch, deny deny deny, followup a fact presented to you with snark and contempt and arrogance.

Such is the world of Gibbsy. No...he didn't bow to King Abdullah last week. The president is taller. He was "bent over with both hands to shake his hand...."

Except that this image indicates otherwise:

Gibbsy the Arrogant continues: "I think this meeting was a week ago, right? I can only imagine it is a great cause of concern to many people struggling with the economy."

Well, Mr. press secretary. It might weigh even heavier on their minds that you can't even answer a simple question with a simple answer when it comes to Geithner, Porkulus, Bowgate, or just about any other friggin' thing you're asked about.

Oh...that's right. I forgot. Nothing to see here. Move along. Never mind that guy with the knife sneaking up behind you.

BTW: for a great story by montage of b. Hussein "shaking hands with shorter people," go here.
