Robert "Ahhh" Gibbs Moment o' the Day: Teh Funny
Gates was in the crowd for Obama's national security speech. Pointing him out, the president said "William Gates" was on hand. Perhaps Obama was thinking of Bill Gates, the Microsoft billionaire.
The defense chief, who goes by Bob, was also misidentified at a Pentagon ceremony on Tuesday. Then, he was introduced as Ronald Gates.
Gates joked then that he had recently been introduced as Bill Gates. "He's the rich one," Gates cracked.

Bad Friggin' Paintings of b. Hussein
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs confirmed today that President Barack Obama will respond in writing to four questions submitted by HIGH TIMES magazine “in order to clarify the official marijuana policy” of the federal government. He won't have a beer with Sean Hannity, but he'll answer written questions from HIGH TIMES, presumably on his $3,350 crackberry....wish mine was as gadgetized as DHPOTUS's. And, no, "DH" doesn't stand for "dear husband."
“The President does not, at this time, support the legalization of marijuana,” Gibbs asserted, in accepting HIGH TIMES’ request for an email interview. “But he does recognize that many Americans are interested in the issue, based on change.gov and other online forums, and he wishes to engage all sides on this debate.”

Barack Obama met the Queen at Buckingham Palace today and gave her a gift of an iPod loaded with video footage and photographs of her 2007 United States visit to Richmond, Jamestown and Williamsburg in Virginia. In return, the Queen gave the President a silver framed signed photograph of herself and the Duke of Edinburgh - apparently a standard present for visiting dignitaries. The guy says he'll allow time for us to view legislation on the Internet, then signs the biggest spending bill in history hours after it hits his desk. He says he'll go through every bill, line by line, and won't sign it if there's pork, yet he signed Porkulus and then Omnibusporkulus, itself having nearly 9,000 bits of pork. He gives Gordon Cyclops Brown DVDs that won't work in England.
It is believed the Queen already has an iPod, a 6GB silver Mini version she is said to have bought in 2005 at the suggestion of Prince Andrew.

Avoid providing b. Hussein with colloquial clichés devoid of meaning, aimed at rewriting contemporary history, devaluing the very real potential of external (and internal) threats, and generally further lulling the Messiah’s followers into submission. You will want to share this decree with the others in the Teleprompter Service, so the correct terminology reaches all levels of the federal government and we can avoid the spread of Obama incompetence disease.
Forget using “overseas contingency operation” when you really want the president to say “war.”
Dump “man-caused disaster” when the president should be saying “terrorism.”

You sound great tonight, sir, even when you're not reading from my screen. Here's another:
I heard only two "ahs" in that last response, sir. Your speech therapy is really paying off! It's particularly important to stoke his ego, now that the luster is wearing off for the American people.

TOTUS should ALWAYS be within arm’s reach of POTUS, particularly when he’s cackling on national TV like a friggin’ loon about causing millions of people to lose their retirement, prompting such appropriate questions as "are you punch drunk?" This way POTUS can always blame TOTUS for displaying a joke that is completely incongruous with the situation.Oh…and in the effort for objectivity, I think it’s only fair to point out that TOTUS has a list of rules (demands, really) of his own. We'll pick that subject up in more detail another time.

Well, last night didn't go well. What can I say? I was tired. By the time Barack and the Irish PM stood up, the President and I had already done two major policy speeches, three nomination announcements, and light dinner banter for a table of twelve. And by the way, that "ad lib" last night about Guinness? Mine.Great friggin' stuff!
So why am I going public now, when for the past two years I've let others do the talking? Well, this is a thankless job, and I sure don't want to take the fall for communications missteps. But more important, I expect you'll be seeing a lot more of me over the next few months and years. Barack and I don't go anywhere without each other; we even complete each other's sentences ... well, more mine than his, but let's not split hairs.
I sense new text being loaded now, so I'll have to be going.

Umm...dude...the WSJ says you ain't so super. The amendment says, in part: "None of the funds made available in this Act may be used for—(1) the creation of a human embryo or embryos for research purposes; or (2) research in which a human embryo or embryos are destroyed, discarded, or knowingly subjected to risk of injury or death."Known as the Dickey-Wicker amendment, it has been included in the annual appropriations bill for the Department of Health and Human Services every fiscal year since 1996.
Found in Section 509 of Title V of the omnibus bill (at page 280 of the 465-page document), the federal funding ban not only prohibits the government from providing tax dollars to support research that kills or risks injury to a human embryo, it also mandates that the government use an all-inclusive definition of “human embryo” that encompasses any nascent human life from the moment that life comes into being, even if created in a laboratory through cloning, in vitro fertilization or any other means.
“For the purposes of this section,” says the law, “the term ‘human embryo or embryos’ includes any organism … that is derived by fertilization, parthenogenesis, cloning, or any other means from one or more human gametes or human diploid cells.”
